Briann Dunn (Examining the Fallout)

For my money one of the best albums of 2010 I'm awfully suprised it didn't catch on in the Canadian indie scene. Sometimes the good one's slip by with little to no fanfare hopefully this album recieves the attention it deserves in the near future. It's timeless alt country in the best way, a winner from start to finish.

J Mascis (Not Enough)

How does an acoustic album made by a man whose defined his career on fuzzed out Rawk sound? Pretty damn sweet! Not convinced, check him out live for free at sonic boom on Friday, or later in the evening at the mod club.

Ty Segall (Gloria)

Ty covering Van Morrison from his Them days. If Van Morrison isn't going to rock this song out in concert like it deserves to be it's good that someone has stepped up to the plate. Just for kicks here is also a bloated Jim Morrison and the doors covering Gloria, showing that a great song doesn't always make for a great cover.

Dismemberment Plan (The City)

Yeah for awesome reunion tours, boo for awesome reunion tours not coming to Toronto. The Dismemberment Plan play one of my least favorite Dismemberment Plan songs live on my least favorite late night talk show. (I'm more of an Conan, The Dismemberment Plan Is Terrified kinda guy. Also for those wondering I don't consider Leno to be late night tv, in the same way I don't consider infomericals to be tv) Inspite of the matchup this is still better than 95 % of tv, and about 50% of what's on youtube you really just can't compete with such a wealth of charlie sheen clips.

Wavves King of The Beach

This is the kind of music video that makes me glad music video's aren't on tv anymore. The song is awesome but the music video really feeds into the whole Wavves is an immature jerk thing that people are always prattling on about.
